DTS Document Routing
DTS utilizes a routing process to approve travel authorizations and vouchers. An Authorization is your travel order and is only an estimate of your travel expenses. Adjustments to actual amounts can always be done on the travel voucher which is submitted once travel for less than 30 days occurs.
The most common error travelers make is forgetting to sign their travel authorization or travel voucher which initiates the routing approval process.
Here is a basic example for a TAD:
1. Traveler logs in to DTS and begins a Travel Authorization.
2. After signing the authorization a traveler can check the current status by viewing only the document and going to the Digital Signature tab.
3. Once travel is complete the traveler will log in to DTS and then go to the Voucher tab under Official Travel
4. A link should appear that corresponds to the authorization
5. Adjustments to actual costs can be done within the voucher
